Client was required to construct a new sewer main through asbestos contaminated soil. Asbestos removal was restricted to excavation of the trench and making the trench safe to work in. All parties acknowledged that once the trench was back filled, that the clearance status of the full site would be nullified as all the surrounding soils remained contaminated. Project was complicated due to the close proximity of:

o major arterial roads
o multi-storey public carpark
o basalt rock outcrops (excavation had to go through the basalt rock).
